Title: Birds of a Feather: The Beginning Author: Alan Batie Draft date: 2016-10-12

FADE IN:

INT. JAY'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

A 12 year old boy wearing pajamas in bed, asleep.

INT. SCOTT'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

Another 12 year old boy, shirtless, in bed, asleep.

EXT. FOREST MEADOW - DAY

Scott and Jay are walking across a forest meadow shirtless, wearing cut-off jean shorts, all alone. It is a sunny day and birds are singing.

SCOTT I heard Roy say he was going to pull a fire alarm just as third period starts because he wasn't ready for an algebra test.

JAY That would suck - third period is my chemistry class and Mr. Stevens is going to make Nitrogen Triiodide tomorrow!

SCOTT Ahhh, learning the art of explosives! You terrorist you!

Scott attacks Jay and they start wrestling in the grass. Scott ends up on top of Jay and stares down at him for a moment, then bends down and kisses Jay.

INT. JAY'S/SCOTT'S BEDROOMS - NIGHT (SPLIT SCREEN)

The boys wake up with a start, lift up the covers and look down, then drop the covers and remove their pajama bottoms and briefs, respectively, and toss them out from under the covers onto the floor.

JAY AND SCOTT (SIMULTANEOUSLY) Ewwwwww

INT. SCHOOL CHEMISTRY CLASSROOM - DAY

Jay and other classmates are sitting down at their desks. They quickly settle and look up expectantly at the teacher, Mr. Stevens.

MR. STEVENS Today, we're going to explore chemical bonding...

The FIRE ALARM goes off. Mr Stevens looks at the alarm indicator in the room, annoyed. Jay is stunned.

MR. STEVENS OK class, calmly file out to Grouping Area B. Leave your books and backpacks behind, phones are ok.

The class gets up from their desks and start filing out.

EXT. GROUPING AREA B AT ABOUT THE 20 YARD LINE OF THE FOOTBALL FIELD

Jay arrives at the grouping area and notices Scott in the adjacent group. Jay stares at Scott quizzically, and Scott stares back puzzled. They work their way to each other.

JAY You knew this was going to happen, didn't you?

SCOTT What? How... well, yes, I heard...

JAY AND SCOTT (SIMULTANEOUSLY) ...Roy say he was going to do it last week.

The boys stare at each other and start blushing.

SCOTT Did you have a dream last night?

JAY Where you told me about it? Yes.

JAY AND SCOTT (SIMULTANEOUSLY) Holy crap!

SCOTT Let's not talk about this here, if you know what I mean. Can you come over after school and we can try to figure this out.

JAY OK
